Project

I'm going on my honeymoon in just a few days and had been looking for a new bathing suit to bring along, but with no luck.  Vintage suits have gotten so expensive- like this one I found on Etsy....

for $188.
I can't justify spending three digits on a less than a yard of fabric no matter how cute it is.

So I decided to make one myself.

I found a bathing suit pattern for $4 at The Knitt'n Kitten

As well as some really awesome vintage linen for about $5 and put one together myself.

Not bad for $9 and and 3 hours of work.
I can't wait to try it out at the beach!

Road Trippin

Getting married took up most of our time and energy this summer,
though we have gotten a chance to take a number of small trips.

We went hiking at Silver Falls...

and berry picking on Sauvie Island.

Slept on a "wonderful bed" at the Elliot Hotel in Astoria on our mini- honeymoon...

saw Jesus painted on a giant gas tank in Longbeach, Washington...

and wandered around the Oysterville cemetery in Washington.

Dewey made friends with a deer at Cape Disappointment

we explored the little town of Cottage Grove

and took two camping trips up at Mount Hood.

Next stop....Maui!  For our belated honeymoon.

Here Comes The Bride

So, one of my best friends in the world, the amazingly talented Abby Greenawalt took photos at my wedding.  She also ran countless errands with me, set up my backyard for the rehearsal dinner, arranged flowers, and watched me have one panic attack after another while remaining as cool as a cucumber.  I love the girl.
We met in photo class at JMU and would spend late nights in the darkroom, developing photos with a bottle of wine at hand.  She continued in photography, interning for THE Annie Leibovitz and then set up shop as a freelancer in DC.  So, when I asked her if she would mind possibly taking photos at my wedding, while also being a guest, she so very kindly said "Of Course".  See why I love her?
Anyways, enough swooning over my friend for now.  Here are the wedding photos!

It's harder than one would think, to put on shoes while wearing a wedding dress.
A little help from Mom

Our friends Matt and Jackie McDowell played beautiful music as everyone walked down the aisle

We wrote our own vows and I wrote vows for Harper.
As you can see things got a little emotional.
Our wonderful friend Myste married us
The Kiss

And, we're done...right?
Then we ate pie
Danced

Hung out
Caught up with old friends
And made funny faces
